Normal topic[Solved] Discogs: Remove (2) from Remix Artist

It’s great, that Yate tags the Remix Artist, too. But if the artists exists several times in the Discogs database it looks like this:

Remixer: LV (2) <- The »(2)« is just used withing Discogs and is not a part of the name.

So Yate writes the »(2)« in the remixer tag, too, which is wrong.

You can check with this release: http://www.discogs.com/John-Wizards-Lusaka-By-Night/release/4864538

Please remove this part on the Remix field as well.

Hi,

This is a bug. I was already removing the qualifiers on artist fields. When the 'credits' handling was added I removed the qualifiers from Involved People and Musician Credits but I forgot to do it on Remix, Composer, Conductor and Lyricist. I've fixed this in the upcoming v2.5.

BTW: v2.5 also has a new action function called 'Format Credits' which is used to format credits cut from web pages which are not in the correct format.

Great, that it has been fixed!

The new action might be useful, too…

Good idea. I've posted the 'Extract Remixer from Title' action in the Actions section of the forum.
