Is it possible to use Folder Start in an 'If…' construct?

So the folder would only be created according to the 'If' condition.

I suspect not, but in case I'm missing something, would be good to confirm either way.

You're correct. Folder Start tokens are always at the root level. They terminate any open if sequences.

Path components are created when necessary for Move statements. The base path component of a Move statement can contain escape sequences. You can always use a Move which sets the base path at runtime and calls a rename template.

No bother, I'll just have 2 alternate templates that'll be picked at runtime for each file.
