I know it is easy to just drag a folder to Yate's window but sometimes Yate is not yet open and I just wand to edit a folder of mp3s or just one song.

Is it somehow possible to add Yate as a service to the context menu? I read somewhere that an Automator action is necessary that can then be added to the Mac's services...

Hmm...I'll have to look into adding Yate as a service.

However, for now if you leave Yate on your dock, you can drag files or folders to the dock icon. You can even specify a default action to be run.

Okay, I just googled a bit and it is actually quite simple: Add a service in Automator, choose "open finder items", set to "Yate", set "service receives selected files or folders in any application" and save. It should automatically be installed as a service, if not, go to Finder -> Services -> Services Preferences and select the desired service.

Thanks....pretty neat. Be careful as I'm pretty sure that Yate will run the 'default' action when opened in this manner. The default action is set or cleared via the context menu in the Action Manager.

It turns out there are timing issues with this approach and the current version. The Automator functionality passes the files one file at a time. For most applications this is not an issue however Yate has to have the files all at once or you may not end up with the desired effect. This is due to Yate's various open modes. I've changed the code to get around this issue. It's in the upcoming v2.5.1 release.
