So why did we make this app?
We love our music and we got tired of not being able to visually search for our albums and tracks in the Finders cover flow mode. We got so tired of it that we decided to develop an application to populate our folders with artwork. Originally, this was done by using existing folder.jpg files. When passing the application around to friends we heard that different people had different existing artwork situations. In order to make it easier we decided to automatically extract artwork from audio files and eventually to extract the artwork directly from iTunes.
Along the way we had to convert a variety of images and icons to various formats so we decided to support image conversions. We wanted to do this while maintaining a simple straightforward user experience. That’s why the UI is pretty much a single ‘drop zone’.
