Hot topicTitel with BitRate and Sampling Frequency

Hello,
I am new to Metadata Edition and also Yate.
Is it possible to rename my albums with the album title and relase Year in round brackets followed by the sampling frequency and Bit rate in square brackets. But only show BR and SF if they are different from 16 - 44.1 (only if higher Bit rate or sampling frequency)
And put all albums of one artist in the same folder?
I.E: Folder —> Red Hot Chili Peppers —> The Getaway (2017) [96 - 24]

How could it be done?

Trank you

Branko

This was interesting. 🙂

I've written an action called 'Rename Folders Conditional on Property Values'.

Down load the following file:

https://2manyrobots.com/actions/Rename_Folders_Conditional_on_Property_Values.zip

Unzip the file and import the plist via Yate>Import Preferences.

You can load up as many tracks (in multiple folders) as you wish. Run the action and the folders will be renamed. The action is documented and describes the process.

BTW: If you have not yet updated to v3.17.4 you will need to do so.

Hello,

thank you a lot for your fast support. It is working perfect!

I only would like to sort the albums in a folder with the artist name: so if i put one or more albums of the same artist in yate --> that there is one folder created with the artist name and inside the folders with the album name (with year and bitrate and sampling frequency). And if i later put an other album of the same artist it should be put in this existing folder.
How would i reach this?

happy holidays

Let me make sure I understand.

If I have a track at /users/you/music/album/test.mp3 with an artist name of Performer, you would like the track to be at:

/users/you/music/Performer/modified album/test.mp3

ie. does the album folder have to be pushed down one level?

or the tracks are currently at:

/users/you/music/xxx/album/test.mp3

and you want:

/users/you/music/Performer/modified album/test.mp3

I have to know if I have to add a level when moving.

Perhaps you can send me the full path of one track and the desired result path (I understand that the album component is to be modified). Also do you want to use Album Artist or Artist? Either way I will have to verify consistency.

Either way it is only a one or two line change to the action to get it to work.

Happy holidays to you as well 🙂

Hi,

thank you this was fast 🙂

As i have a quite inconsistent music folder now i think i will delete all folders down to the album folder an then use yate to create the artist (album artist) folder inside my music folder.
So I think your first version would be the right:

If I have a track at /users/you/music/album/test.mp3 with an artist name of Performer, you would like the track to be at:
/users/you/music/Performer/modified album/test.mp3
ie. does the album folder have to be pushed down one level?
YES!

Best Regards

Branko

Okay I've done it using Artist (as opposed to Album Artist). The Artist field must be the same in all tracks. I also check to see if the Artist folder already exists so that you do not get a growing path if the action is successively run.

The new action can be downloaded at:

https://2manyrobots.com/actions/Rename_Folders_Conditional_on_Property_Values_(2).zip

Enjoy!

Thank you,

but I get a 404 Error? --> solved the "-zip" part was not part of the hyperlink. Downloaded it with copy/paste. Thx

BTW how would I modify it to use ALBUM ARTIST just to test what fits best? Sorry if asking to much.

Hi,

just tested the second script. It creates the Folder with Artist name. But inside the folder the Album title is missing. only the "(YEAR) [SF - BR]" part:

Before: Music Folder --> More Specials (2015) [96 -24]
After: Music Folder --> The Specials --> (2015) [96 -24]

Oops. Written too fast or not enough testing:

https://2manyrobots.com/actions/Rename_Folders_Conditional_on_Property_Values_(3).zip

To try Album Artist as opposed to Artist change line 19 to be:

Copy the Album Artist field to Variable 7

You can display line numbers from the context menu.

If you wish the action can be changed to use Album Artist if it is non empty and consistent, or Artist if not.

Let me know if I've messed up again 🙂
