Hello,
the last Action works as expected. But only the music files get moved to the renamed album folder. All other fields (i.e. Artwork , cue etc.) stays in the original folder. How to include them?

Thx

Branko

I have played with the options for the creation of the "Artist Folder". Could change "Artist" to "AlbumArtist" :9

Now I would like to sort by "Sort Album Artist". As many of my Albums do not contain tag for "Sort Album Artist" I would like to use "Album Artist" if "Sort Album Artist" field is empty.? How?

Is there a way to find the albums in my collection without entry into "Sort album Artist" field and fill it with proper content?

Merry Christmas

Branko

Hi,

https://2manyrobots.com/actions/RenameFoldersConditionalonPropertyValues5.zip

The above link points to a variant which uses Album Artist. You can rename the actions to something meaningful in the Action Manager.

In Preferences-File List there are two options to modify the sorting behaviour.

If you set both 'Use Natural Sorting' and 'Use Sort Fields When Sorting', all metadata fields which have an associated Sort field will be sorted as follows:

- if the Sort field is non empty use it
- use natural sorting on the primary field.

So if you change the sort of the Album Artist column header, it will use Sort Album Artist if available otherwise it will do a natural sort on the Album Artist field.

People populate the sort fields in different ways. The is an action statement called 'Sort Form' which can be used to enforce natural sorting in the Sort fields. Also if you look at the User Contributed section of the resources area you will see a set of three sort actions (from sophistoche ) which can be used to populate the sort fields.

Hi,

I am getting slowly into the application. But there are so many options 🙂

Next step would be to enhance the expression in the Square Brackets. For PCM files it should stay "[SF - BR]" but for DSF files ist should be "[DSF 64]" for 2 822 400 Hz, "[DSF 128]" for 5 644 800 Hz and "[DSF 256]" for 11 289 600 Hz.

thank you again

There's a new version at:

https://2manyrobots.com/actions/RenameFoldersConditionalOnPropertyV6.zip

I've singled out DSF files as you requested. I'm not doing anything special for DFF files.

This time there are three actions:

Rename Folders Conditional on Property Values (6)
Rename Folders Conditional on Property Values - Artist
Rename Folders Conditional on Property Values - Album Artist

The 2nd and 3rd are what you should be calling. The (6) action is common code called by the other two.

Enjoy 🙂
