Yate v6.6.1 will be released on Wednesday. v3 of the Sync File utilities3 will be released at the same time. It has been rewritten to support Permute 3 and XLD in the same actions. The actions detect if either or both of the converters are installed and let you choose which you want to use. You can create profiles for both.

Many thanks for the update, it works flawlessly!

Next step: it would be possible to exclude folders by tag or anything else from the sync. For example, I would like to synchronize only one version of an album (SACD, CD, CD Remastered, Hi-res). For example: Custom tag SYNC = Yes / NO. That would be great!
Thank you.

It should be doable. The source folder is always loaded so it would not be an overhead to check for a particular tag. I'd go with the 'negative' approach. It would be horrendous to have to set a SYNC tag in an entire collection. This would not require people to place a SYNC tag in every file.

How about NOSYNC=1 in a file is interpreted as skip the file. NOSYNC=2 in any file in a folder means skip the entire folder (not recursive ... only a single folder). Any other value for NOSYNC would be ignored. This means nothing has to be changed for existing users.

Hi, here I am again for further help on how to proceed to implement the NOSYNC solution for an entire folder. Could you explain to me in detail which script I should modify?
Thank you very much

NOSYNC has been implemented using the upcoming Yate v6.7. v6.7 and the updated actions have gone out to the preview list. If you want to be put on the list drop me an email at support@2manyrobots.com telling me what email address you want to use.

Perfect, it works great, now I can sync a single version of an album to my DAP 🙂

Next step / idea: If I rename a folder in the source directory, for example:
1973 - The Dark Side of the Moon (US - Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab UDCD 517 - 1988-04)
in ->
1973-03-24 - The Dark Side of the Moon (US - Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab UDCD 517 - 1988-04)
I will have the duplicate album in the destination directory.
Is it possible to synchronize the deleted folders in any way?

Unfortunately not. The actions as they stand do not know anything about "what was there before". It would require a second pass through the target to remove folders which do not exist on the source.

Let me think about it 🙂

It turns out this is easy. You'll be able to test it with Preview 2 of v6.7.

The way it works is that the source and destination folder trees will be walked. Folders only in the destination will be identified. The identified folders will be displayed in a table where you can select any or all of them for deletion. The functionality is disabled unless activated in a profile. You will have to rebuild a profile if you want it to do the folder walking.
